Identify the material and condition
Record composite product generation, timber finish, paving or stone, with joints and surrounding surfaces. Trex publishes different care guidance for different decking generations, illustrating why one pressure setting is not a universal method. Rot, loose boards, failing coatings and persistent growth need assessment rather than a promise that washing restores the structure.
Plan water and access
Review the suitable method, furniture clearing, nearby planting and building penetrations. The provider should check Calgary’s current water restrictions and mobile-washing requirements at booking and before work. Wash water, products and loosened contaminants must not be assumed acceptable for storm drains. Weather and freezing conditions can change when the task is suitable.
Define the cleaned result
Review the listed area for ordinary soil and product residue, and record retained marks, coating wear or inaccessible sections. Sanding, staining, sealing, pest treatment and structural repair are separate work. No slip-proof or new-surface guarantee should be inferred. The handover should explain drying and normal-use guidance relevant to the actual method, with runoff responsibilities made clear.
