Identify frames and fabrics
List furniture pieces, frame finishes, cushion fabric and removable covers. Sunbrella’s instructions distinguish applications and construction; its guidance should not be generalised to unidentified textiles. Record corrosion, peeling coatings, torn seams and signs of contamination. Outdoor-rated material can still have restrictions on heat, chemistry and handling.
Plan suitable treatment and drying
Agree frame cleaning, permitted fabric care and a place for pieces to dry without immediate use. Covers may not be designed for removal even when a zip is visible. Review Calgary’s current water and wash-water requirements for any outdoor process. Do not let a cleaning request silently include pressure washing delicate fabrics or dismantling unstable furniture.
Reconcile the finished pieces
Check the agreed frames and cushions for ordinary residue and note remaining stains or damage. Mould-affected materials may require separate assessment depending on condition; do not promise universal remediation or restored water repellency. Storage, repairs and protective treatments are explicit options. A clear piece inventory makes the scope useful before seasonal setup or storage.
Scope to discuss
- Item and material review
- Agreed compatible frame cleaning
- Permitted cushion-surface treatment
- Piece and drying handover
Optional details to quote separately
- Permitted removable-cover laundering
- Product-approved protection assessment
- Separate furniture repair enquiry
A few helpful answers.
Can every outdoor cushion be pressure washed?
No. Follow the actual construction and fabric instructions; weather resistance is not a universal cleaning approval.
Does cleaning restore all protective coatings?
No. Re-treatment needs a separate product-compatible assessment and scope.
