Plan the contents first
Agree who removes food, checks retention decisions and provides suitable temporary storage. The provider should not infer whether medicines, specialist foods or unlabelled containers can be discarded. Record refrigerator and freezer sections, drawers and shelves included. Defrosting and power changes need a model-appropriate plan rather than an assumed interruption of cold storage.
Respect the components
Review the manufacturer’s instructions for glass shelves, seals, finishes and removable parts. Temperature changes, abrasive products and excess moisture can affect components, so the approach should suit the exact appliance. Water dispensers, ice systems, hidden drains and refrigerant equipment are not automatically part of the interior clean. Visible damage or persistent odour may need assessment.
Hand back usable storage
Agree the condition and dryness of the cleaned sections before contents are returned by the responsible person. Reconcile removable parts and note areas excluded for access or product restrictions. Cleaning does not establish food safety after an outage or repair a cooling problem. A clear inventory and temperature-continuity plan protect the household’s decisions while allowing the interior work to proceed.
Scope to discuss
- Agreed interior walls and shelves
- Listed user-removable drawers
- Accessible door bins and seals
- Reconciliation of cleaned components
Optional details to quote separately
- Separate freezer defrost arrangement
- External appliance-face cleaning
- Food-retention sorting by owner instruction
A few helpful answers.
Can the cleaner decide which food to throw away?
Only explicit authorised decisions should guide disposal. Food safety and retention should remain with the responsible household party.
Does cleaning fix a persistent cooling fault?
No. A suitable appliance provider should assess operating problems separately.
