Identify all contacted materials
Record ceramic, porcelain or stone tile, grout type where known, sealants and metal or plastic profiles. The grout and adjacent trim may be more sensitive than the tile face. Missing joints, recurring stains and loose tiles should be recorded as condition concerns, not treated as dirt that necessarily yields to more pressure.
Define appropriate treatment limits
Review manufacturer or installer care information for the actual assembly. Schluter’s profile guidance shows why trim finishes need compatible cleaners even beside durable tile. Aggressive acid, abrasion or steam should not be assumed suitable for every grout or stone. Suspected mould and a moisture cause belong to an appropriate separate assessment rather than an ordinary grout-cleaning guarantee.
Separate cleaning from renewal
Review the agreed tiles and joints under normal lighting and note discoloration or damage that remains. Regrouting, resealing, recolouring and waterproofing are different tasks with their own suitability questions. The completion record should identify the area cleaned and the limitations found. This gives the household a clearer next step than promising that every grout line will look newly installed.
