Identify the manufacturer, fabric and care label, plus removable covers and cushion construction. Colourfastness, trims and backing can affect method selection. Delicate, antique or unidentified fabrics may need specialist assessment before any wet process is accepted.
Set the treatment and access
List the exact sofa sections, chairs and cushions included. Agree a suitable compatibility assessment, ordinary spot work and drying arrangements. Leather, suede and specialist textiles are separate scopes. Pet contamination, pest activity and flood effects should be disclosed rather than included inside a general upholstery request. Furniture repair and foam replacement are not cleaning.
Hand back clearly identified pieces
Review the treated sections and note remaining marks, wear or colour changes that pre-date the work. Confirm cushions and removable parts are reconciled and explain the actual drying and use guidance. Avoid guarantees about allergens, germ removal or every odour. A focused enquiry with care-label photographs and stain history is more useful than a promise based only on the sofa’s size.
